“Wait… What?”
“What do you mean your estimate isn’t free?”
We hear it all the time…
And unfortunately, most homeowners don’t understand the work that goes into an in-home visit… Nor do they understand the difference between an estimate and a quote…
WARNING: This is going to be a “straight to the point, nothing but facts” piece of information… If you’re already offended, you’re not a good fit for our company and you should probably click here to find your next contractor…
Now for the record…
We give free estimates all the time, but with strict guidelines…
You email us photos & a quick walk through video of your kitchen…
Answer 7 simple questions…
And viola, we can give you an estimate for free… No questions asked…
(And after doing this process for the last 18 months, our estimates are usually within a few thousand dollars… Pretty spot-on accurate if you’d ask me!)
But if you’re insisting that we come to your house for free for the same service that I just outlined above, for a “free estimate” it won’t happen…
And to be honest, we’ve become a better company and have increased the quality of our service because of it…
The simple truth… We can only afford to meet with clients…
Let me explain…
The reason why we started charging for in-home appointments is because we currently receive hundreds of potential clients calling us every single month…
And with over 70% of them not being to afford our services (or any remodel in general… Many of them are simply curious and never intended to actually remodel their kitchen), we were wasting thousands of hours and losing thousands of dollars on people that would have never been able to work with us to begin with…
Let me give you an example…
An in home appointment consists of a few things:
- Driving to the property (1-2 hours)
- Spending 1-2 hours with the homeowner
- Driving back from the property (1-2 hours)
- Building set of plans, crunching numbers, building out a bid (2-4 hours)
We’re already into the project 8-10 hours…
And if 70 people out of 100 say NO…
We’ve lost 560-700 hours of time that WE HAVE TO PAY FOR…
And that’s time that we could be spending on better training, creating better products, enhancing our services, or spending time with our families…
That’s 140-175 hours per week down the drain…
Or looking at it another way…
8 hours x $20/hr for the employee + $20 in fuel = $180
Now lets multiply that by the 70% that say “no” to our estimates…
With 70 out of 100 leads, that’s our company spending $12,600.00 – $15,400.00 on people that are saying “no” to our quotes…
It’s strange…
No one else shows up to work for free…
But it’s oddly assumed that contractors, designers, etc ought to show up, put in 8-10 hours of work to provide a free estimate, with no guarantee of getting any work from the deal…
And if you haven’t seen our gallery, or our before and after videos, etc…
We’re not some rinky-dink handyman service…
And if you have a family member that’s a “contractor” that thinks we’re nuts, I’m curious why you haven’t hired them (we hear this all the time lol)
Our team is made up of some of the most bad-ass designers and contractors in the industry…
Sorry… the “most talented”…
And with that talent, comes a price…
So here’s how our process works… Which the other 30% of the potential clients that come in every month have appreciated…
When you sign up for our “Instant Estimate” offer, you’ll be sent to a video that explains what we need:
- 5-7 photos of your kitchen, with as much of the kitchen in each photo
- A 30-60 second walkthrough video of your kitchen
- Answers to 7 questions
And that’s it…
Based upon that information, we can provide a pretty solid estimate that, like I said earlier, is usually within a few thousand dollars of the final quote (sometimes a few hundred bucks is the difference…)
NOTE: When you do 200-300 kitchen remodels a year, nationwide, a photo tells us more about your kitchen than you’d probably believe lol…
Now if the estimate fits your budget, then and only then will we offer our in-home appointment, which will cost a $500 retainer… (The fee is forwarded towards your final invoice…)
Kitchens are what we do…
We eat, sleep and breath kitchens… And my partners and I are obsessed with giving our clients the best of the best service and materials imaginable…
So… I say all of that to say…
We’d love to have you as a client…
And we’d be happy to give you an estimate on your project…
Simply fill out the form at the bottom of this page to get started…
You’ll receive an email from either Bryce with instructions for getting your estimate…
And if the estimate fits your budget, we’ll move forward with setting up your in-home appointment and getting you an invoice for the retainer…
All the best!
